How
it
all started

MAM productions was founded on 22 December 1985 in Gouda by Mr A.Th. Maissan. For many years he developed all kinds of activities to publicise the suprolo charactersⒺ and also the suprolo-llocingsⒺ. Many suprolosⒺ have been produced and sold since then, and the suprolo-llocings have also undergone quite a development.
In the mid-80s, I was an art history student in Leiden and had not yet heard of suprolos.

Mission

Making the world happier and more prosperous
Until September 1990, when I was on holiday in Egypt and saw a fellow traveller reading the book 'Wonderful Lightworld of Suprolos'. Shortly afterwards, when I laid eyes on the first suprolo postcardsⒺ and stickers, I was struck by those strange little creatures, each one radiating something I couldn't identify. 'Une énergie d'Amour' it said. And what did the word 'Estare' mean? I had spent six years in college and had seen many works of art, but this was something new, I could not fit the suprolos into any of the known art movements. But they fascinated me right away. I found out more about them by reading about their adventures, which always involve humour, joy, lightheartedness, perspective, wisdom and cheerfulness.

In 2018, Mr Maissan retired and I was allowed to take over the honours for MAM productions.

Huug van de Rijdt joined MAM productions quite soon after that. He can rightly be called a suprolo fanⒺ from the very beginning.
When The Artists Suprolo showed him some suprolo for the first time in 1985, he instantly fell in love with those attractive little figures.
Now, in his role as suprolo consultant for MAM productions, he can inform you about the business opportunities of suprolo characters. You can reach him at huug@mamproductions.nl.
My dream is to encounter suprolos everywhere in the world. That people talk to each other about which suprolo they have on their clothes, or that it is quite normal to see, for example, a truck driving with a suprolo imageⒺ on it. That you see someone walking down the street with a suprolo necklaceⒺ or with suprolo earringsⒺ. Or that you can choose from t-shirts at the shop with suprolos on them, in all kinds of colours. But also an eyewear frame with a suprolo very delicately. Or a suprolo as a big sculpture in a statue garden or in a hall of a building. Or as a wall decoration made of textile, or glass, or wood, ceramics. And also that companies will start using suprolos as an extra attention-grabber for their services or products. After all, the possibilities of applying suprolos are endless and boundless.
